Naoya Hatakeyama is one of the most interesting landscape photographers working today. This photo shows a man-made hill formed by coal mining in France. Today, we’re previewing his upcoming, career-spanning exhibit at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, which will include his stunning photographs taken in the aftermath of Japan’s 2011 earthquake and tsunami disaster.
